About fostering
Can I foster?
Children and young people need foster carers from all backgrounds with a wide range of life experience, skills and qualities. It doesn't matter what your religion or cultural background is, whether you're single, married, in a civil partnership, a homeowner or renting, your ability to care for and nurture a child or young person is what matters.
To become a foster carer, you will need to:
- be over the age of 21.
- have no child related criminal offences.
- be able to provide a suitable home environment.
If you are interested in fostering and would like to find out more information, please get in touch with us today for a friendly chat by calling 020 8753 1075 or emailing us on contact@fosterwithwestlondon.org.uk
Your childcare experience
We are looking for people who can bring diverse knowledge, skills, and life experiences. We want resilient carers with a strong commitment to changing the lives of children in care.
Your age
You need to be over 21 years old, fit and healthy, and able to meet the child's needs. Underlying mental and physical health conditions won't automatically rule you out.
Your job
You can still foster if you work, as long as your working hours are flexible enough to meet the demands of fostering, including:
- taking children to and from school
- going to meetings at short notice
- taking/collecting child(ren) from supervised contact
